2013 USTA Women's Leagues Forming
Scott Colebourne of Omni Amelia Island Plantation states that he is interested in forming Women's 40 and 55 and over USTA Teams for the 2013 Women's season, please see below.
Scott states:
If there is enough interest to form a 55 and over team and play out of OAIP we will do so, the team will be captained by myself and Sal, with the assistance of a captain that is a team member. The format is 3 doubles lines and I think having approx 10 on a team would be a good number.

I will need 10 positive replies at each level prior to November 20th before we enter a team.
Also, if you would like to play on a team that is 18 and over, or 40 and over, at any level from 2.5 - 4.5 please let me know and I'll help find you a team to play on, we have players from our area travelling to play on teams at other clubs already.

Kraft Tennis Players along with Maharaj Tennis, and Yulee Tennis Foundation sponsored the afternoon Round Robin tennis event. Three divisions were played at 2 different sites and resulted in 722 lbs of donated groceries! Entry fee to the event was one bag of nonperishable food items and it seems that entrants were extemely generous in their donations this year. The Food Pantry tennis event has been an annual occurence since Maharaj Tennis came to town in 2006.
In 2011, The Kraft Tennis Players joined forces with Maharaj Tennis and the Yulee Tennis Foundation to sponsor the event as part of their Community Outreach programming. For 2012, they were once again the host site for the event. The Ritz Carlton also participated in the cause by donating use of their courts for one of the women's division round robin. Winners of the events are as follows:
Ritz Women's Group - Susan Perry, Jesse Hiott, Julie Dobinski and Barbara Welling
Kraft Women's Group - Lois Brough and Fan Aylward
Men's Group - Mike Perry and Vernon Hiott.
The event was coordinated by Michele and Vishnu Maharaj.
